Dr. Nandan Gupta

Chancellor, Swami Vivekananda University

Dr. Nandan Gupta studied at Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission, earned MBBS from NRS Medical College and an MBA from IIM Joka. Former Health Finance Consultant to the Government of West Bengal, he currently serves as Secretary of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science & Technology and Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda University, holding several leadership roles in education and research.

Dr. Banamali Roy

Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Bangabasi Evening College

Dr. Banamali Roy joined Bangabasi Evening College in 2010 as Assistant Professor of Mathematics. He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Calcutta and completed his Ph.D. at Jadavpur University. He has published over fifty five research papers in plasma physics, mathematical biology, nonlinear science, and applied mathematical methods across interdisciplinary and computational research domains.

Mr. Sakti Prasad Mishra

Sister Nivedita Chair, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture

Mr. Sakti Prasad Mishra is an eminent educator associated with Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture as Sister Nivedita Chair. He received the Teacher’s Award in 1989 and again in 2000 from former Vice Presidents of India. He taught for nearly three decades at Purulia Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith and served as a guest lecturer in higher educational institutions.

Former Associate Professor, Department of Statistics, Asutosh College

Dr. Chandranath Mukherjee served as Associate Professor of Statistics at Asutosh College, Kolkata. He was also a guest lecturer at Rabindra Bharati University and Vidyasagar University. Dr. Animesh Mahata joined Sri Ramkrishna Sarada Vidya Mahapitha, Kamarpukur, in 2023 as Assistant Professor of Mathematics. He holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from IIEST, Shibpur, has over 10 years of teaching experience, published 35+ research papers, and serves as a reviewer for several reputed international journals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about the Swami Vivekananda Global Olympiad, including eligibility, registration, examination format, results, awards, and participation guidelines.

The SVGO exam is conducted in two stages. Stage 1 is held at the national level for all registered students. Stage 2 is conducted only for students who qualify Stage 1. There is a single written exam and no interview at any stage.

Students studying in Classes 5 to 10 in any recognized school are eligible to appear for the SVGO Stage 1 exam.

Students must apply through their school if the school is registered and participating in the SVGO exam. Individual registrations are not accepted.

The SVGO exam is conducted in English or a regional language. The question paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and students mark their answers on OMR sheets.

Yes, students are allowed to participate in multiple subjects based on their interests.

The ranking criteria are defined by the SVGO authorities. Please refer to the official ranking guidelines provided in the detailed information link.

A participation fee of Rs.100/- per student per examination is applicable.

A minimum of 50 students from a school is required for registration with SVGO. There is no upper limit on the number of students who can participate.
